Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) – Barcelona

by Jo Smith in AV, Industry News, Microcomms News

The end of January in the UK – temperatures hovering around 7°C with winter still gripping the land with icey hands. It’s the period when we all yearn for the first shoots of spring to signify the onset of spring, blue skies and something to look forward to – but it seems so far off! So, what if there was a justifiable opportunity to lift those flattened spirits with a few days away in warmer climes? How would a trip to Barcelona sound? The temperature is already in the low teens and there’s an event taking place, that if you’re in any way connected with the audio-visual sector, should definitely be on your list to attend. It’s the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) event!

Why attend?

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is the authoritative event in the pro AV and integrated systems industry. Now entering its 20th year, it is being staged at the Fira de Barcelona – the second largest trade fair and exhibition centre in Europe. ISE 2024 is set to be another record-breaking episode in the history of the event. All the big players will be attending – Humly, Crestron, Lang, Shure, Dell Technologies, Zoom – the list goes on.

Barcelona itself has a rich heritage and is today an important cultural centre and a major tourist destination. It is renowned particularly for the architectural works of Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domènech i Montaner, which have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The city will serve as the perfect venue for the next phase of innovation and growth in the pro AV and integrated systems arena. Its where people will meet, exchange big ideas, make sales and on a grander scale come away with ideas that will push the industry forward.

The ISE conference is held in Barcelona

We’re going!

It would be an opportunity missed if Cornwall based Microcomms were not attending. As it says on the homepage of our website “We bring ideas, strategy and a wealth of experience to every IT project we work on, from installing social wi-fi to full-on consultancy & design work; helping you prepare your business for future growth and expansion.” How could we not be there? And by extension how can you fail to miss this exciting opportunity too?

We’ll certainly be wanting to talk about our range of products & services that we offer.

Utilising the latest technology, we can design solutions to streamline your business. Whether you’re an SME looking to modernise internal communications, or a larger organisation needing to upgrade outdated collaborative processes in line with expansion, we are experts at creating audio-visual deliverables that will integrate into your business. Attending ISE will allow us to enhance what we already offer.

Digital signage is another field that we aim to shine in. Our range of systems can create the perfect platform to deliver a plethora of content to both your staff and customers – who isn’t drawn to a bright screen displaying static or moving images? Solutions can be as simple as an in-house messaging board for internal communications or interest pieces right through to large scale multi-site synchronised, interactive shop window screens. We’ll be looking to take away from ISE new ideas in this area so that we can offer the very latest in digital signage technology.

Interactive displays

Some meetings, however important, can sometimes be dragged down by dull presentations. Once the yawns start it’s hard to get everyone back on track. We can energise these gatherings with dynamic interactive displays that can incorporate touchscreen and VR – inspiring your teams, impressing clients leading to further collaboration and more business. Ted Romanowitz, head of the professional displays team at Futuresource (a market research consulting company that provides a range of specialist intelligence reports and ongoing personal debriefs to support with business decision-making), will be giving a talk on this subject at ISE – we are looking forward to being able to attend what promises to be an insightful presentation.

Town Hall Systems

Think of those keynote speeches by the late Steve Jobs at Apple and you’ll have an idea of what a ‘town hall system’ could achieve for your company. We can offer multi-functional and impressive displays to add life and lift to your presentations and make communication across company sites and offices better and easier – ultimately leading to a more efficient workflow. A big message deserves a big platform! At ISE we’ll be soaking up what’s new in this branch of AV.

Meeting Rooms

We can provide total systems installation and support when it comes to preparing your meeting rooms for the next decade and beyond. Our service includes the supply and installation of all cabling, display screens, professional cameras, video codecs and microphones to help achieve the best solution for remote collaboration and communication. Part of what we offer can also include an acoustic survey to root out issues in those rooms with problematic audio features such as echoing, feedback and general poor audio performance. Your voice will always be heard clearly and concisely. Again, we’re hoping to stay ahead of the curve in this area by heading to some of the world’s leading suppliers of equipment who will be exhibiting at ISE.

Network Distributed AV

Microcomms can provide flexible video distribution systems that elevate your existing or new copper & fibre infrastructure. Seamless video and audio streaming can be achieved throughout various locations within your company, all from a centrally managed media resource. According to the ISE website – “… ISE 2024 promises to offer a wealth of cutting-edge… solutions that will reshape AV vertical markets, helping integrators to deliver an immersive and enhanced experience for entertainment, gaming, education, healthcare, hospitality, retail, and more.”

More than a trade show

ISE is so much more than just a trade show. It continues to showcase cutting edge technologies within the audio-visual, systems integration, lighting, live events and IT industries. It is sensitive to industry dynamics and as a consequence has created specialised platforms that gather an entire community into one single location.

At Microcomms we can’t wait until the end of January, when our team will be heading to Barcelona to experience all that ISE has to offer. Who knows, we might extend our stay to take in some of what this wonderful city has to offer, allowing us to contemplate what we’ve learned. Why don’t you too?
