COVID 19 has impacted businesses world-wide, forcing them to take action on protecting their staff’s health and wellbeing. For smaller business, this might be simple adaptations such as ensuring social distancing rules are in place, PPE is worn where necessary and regular sanitisation occurs.
However, when you’re a global organisation with over 40,000 members of staff to take care of, keeping them safe takes more strategic thought and planning and we have been working closely with one of our global partners since August, to roll out an app designed to help employees return to the work-place safely.
The in-house app which is available on IOS and Android, allows staff to view and book available ‘socially distanced’ desks across 150 different regions and 200 offices globally ensuring their safety when they return to the office. The app means that some employees who are simply unable to work productively from home for whatever reason, can book a desk in the office where they can work and interact safely with colleagues. For some team members, these small safe interactions can have a big affect on personal wellbeing and the opportunity to touch base with colleagues is a welcome introduction back into their normal day.
The app also acts as a fully functional track and trace system, as well as being able to react to regional legislation or controls subject to the changes and R rate across the world.
Feasibility studies have taken place and the app is now rolling out live across countries world-wide. It is currently being used by New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Dubai, Pakistan, United States, Germany, Austria, Greece, the Netherlands and here in the UK, with more countries on-boarding regularly.
