Who Are We?
A Brief History
Microcomms was originally incorporated in 1980 and was primarily a manufacturing business up until 1995 when there was an initial shift to installation services (putting in the cables we had made).
This department continued to expand until Simon Murley (now Microcomms MD) became involved in 1999 and the company took what was then a side line business to the next level.
From 2004, Microcomms continued to evolve and develop the business, and the manufacturing arm was discontinued in 2008. At this point, the focus shifted entirely to networks and audio-visual technologies.
Over the last 10 years, through acquisition and the recruitment of the region’s top people, we have developed a comprehensive technology portfolio and whilst maintaining the original mission statement of ‘Connect Once,’ we have developed a new identity within the region as ‘The Technology People.’
Our vision is to continue our current growth strategy in terms of product development and company expansion through organic growth and acquisition to become the region’s most successful technology integrator. To be clear, that’s not the biggest, but the most successful.
We have recognised that the success comes from having committed and engaged workforce, as well as happy clients and the two go hand in hand – you simply can’t have one without the other.
Furthermore , we have found that our role as an organisation is to maintain best practice and fresh ideas, in not only the deployment of technology but our ethical responsibilities as well.
Our ethos resonates with those clients who have recognised the difference between cost and value and we see this strategy as key to our success in the way that we partner with our clients, staff and stakeholders. We have recognised a number of areas where we can achieve considerable growth through market disruption and are looking to develop these over the course of 2018 and beyond.
