Client: Finisterre Category: IT services Tools Used: new IT infrastructure installed by Microcomms
British clothing brand Finisterre was founded over a decade ago by Tom Kay. Since it’s inception the company has grown from strength to strength and is stocked across the UK and Europe. Finisterre designs functional and sustainable products for those that share a love of the sea.
In order to meet the needs of the growing company, the business needed to look at a new IT infrastructure to manage the requirement of their design, finance, marketing and admin teams. A robust new Dell server has been put in place as well as quality of service rules and proper organisation of files and permissions. We’re also helping to advise about IT security measures to ensure the company are as safe as possible from Cyber Attack.
The project was headed up by Microcomms Technical Services Manager, Paul Hodgson. A Cornish surfer himself, Paul also had a vested interest in ensuring the job went well…the company are based in his home village of St.Agnes!
When asked about working together, Paul commented “Its fantastic to be supporting a company such as Finisterre, whose ethics regarding sustainability are close to my heart as a regular water-goer. They are a great bunch of people, who all believe in the cause and I’m delighted that we can support them on their journey”.
Finisterre are pleased with the project outcomes too – Vicky Davies – Web & Technology Manager at the company, said “We’re really pleased to be working with Microcomms to support us with the growth of our business and the implementation of improvements to our I.T. Their support with this change has been really efficient and importantly they’re great people to work with.”
A fantastic project – and we look forward to working together on many more.
