We continue improving our environmental performance, minimising our environmental impact, pollution, and making resource efficiency a core requirement of all our operations.
In October 2017, we committed to saving 72,500 travel miles up to the end of September 2018 through teleconferencing, videoconferencing, ideation and car sharing. Up the end of March 2018, we have already saved 68527.7 miles – this equates to having saved 6411kg of carbon!
In 2017, Microcomms were awarded ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certification, designed to help maintain the balance between ensuring profitability and minimal environmental impact.
Microcomms is based at the Wheal Jane Earth Science Park, a fully sustainable development that involved transforming the disused tin mine into an environmentally pioneering earth science cluster.
Simon runs Microcomms and has spent almost twenty years building the business to be a leading IT consultancy across the South West, nationally and internationally. Simon’s consultancy skills are the prime reason that his clients forge long term partnerships with the company, trusting their future IT strategy in his capable hands.
John has spent over 10 years in the Audio Visual sector and has gathered a vast amount of knowledge during this time on what works and how it can enhance an users experience. Always willing to listen first to gain an understanding of what would be the perfect fit for a client, and to find a perfect solution that works for them.
Paul is our Head of Operations and helps to ensure that the operational side of the business runs smoothly, and oversees the Engineering and Technical teams. Coming from a technical background Paul also helps to Project Manage some of our larger installations and also helps to design Enterprise solutions for our customers.
Hal has been in the ICT industry for 20 years providing solutions in Oracle, UNIX, Consultancy, Training, Asset Management and Telecoms. Having managed clients from start up to the likes of The Post Office, British Gas and GEC. Hal takes great pride in providing the very best solution fit for the client.
Prior to Finance Emma worked within one of Virgin’s start-up businesses. From there Emma moved into Finance and has been working within this industry for 20 years, initially within Account Management in the Venture Finance Sector, to then running an Accounts Support Business for ten years before moving into industry. As well as having a financial perspective, customer service stands highly within Emma’s remit.
Hollie is fairly new to Microcomms and manages some of our key accounts.
Janet’s career path with Microcomms started in May 2015 when she joined the company as an Office Administrator. Within a year, she was promoted to Office and Operations Manager. She manages our quality and environmental management systems and recently led the company through the successful upgrade to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
Paul has been providing IT solutions to a variety of industries including construction, recreational diving, commercial ports and satellite communications sectors, having been involved with projects to modernise corporate systems, utilising new technologies. Paul also brings a strong customer support background with him.
